Ocean Governance, Research and Development Project (OGP) Marks World Oceans Day with Sensitization Session at Staff Village Basic School

To commemorate World Oceans Day 2025, the Ocean Governance, Research and Development Project (OGP) organized a sensitization exercise on Friday, 13th June 2025 at Staff Village Basic School under the global theme, “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us.”

The session, led by Professor F.K.E. Nunoo, focused on the importance of the ocean, the impact of pollution, and practical ways to protect marine environments. He engaged the pupils with vivid examples, encouraging them to take simple actions such as proper waste disposal and reducing plastic use.

The interactive session sparked curiosity among the students, who actively participated and asked thoughtful questions. It was an inspiring reminder of the role education plays in building a generation committed to ocean stewardship.

OGP remains dedicated to promoting ocean awareness through outreach, research, and education.
